Tomas James Filipek is an Architectural Studio based in Fremantle, Western Australia.

Tom has extensive experience in all forms of architecture, both land and water based. Having formed the foundation of his career in numerous award winning architectural practices across both Victoria and Western Australia.

Tom Grew up on the West Coast to Polish immigrant parents. From a young age he felt an infinity with the ocean. Spending his days surfing and camping in the dramatically breath taking and rugged Western Australian outback. He quickly grew an appreciation of how our environment impacts how we feel and live and how good design must reflect the way in which we want to live and work.

The son of a Cabinet Maker, Tom was exposed to construction sites from a very young age. He remembers spending many happy weekends helping his dad master seamless joinery. An experience that gave him a great respect for the hard work and skill required to produce even the smallest of pieces.

Tom sees every project as an opportunity to contribute in a positive way to the built fabric of our communities. He designs spaces and sculptures to connect individuals and communities support a well lived life and to respect the natural environments on which it is placed.

Tom believes that beautiful functional design can be achieved on any budget by utilising good design and construction techniques on a variety of scales and would be delighted to work with you to create your dream home.
